The Silver Bullet colorway is not only historic, but it is also a must-have for any Air Max 97 fan. The Air Max dynasty began in 1987 with the Air Max 1, which was a revolutionary design that set the foundation for the long-term success of the Air Max brand. Over the years, new iterations of the Air Max were released, each one focusing on expanding the use of Nike's air technology. This culminated in 1997 with the creation of the Air Max 97.

Despite its undeniable strengths, the Air Max 97 wasn't an instant success. It took time for runners and sneaker enthusiasts to fully appreciate its unique design. However, it was the Italians who were among the first to recognize the shoe's potential, making it a staple in their sneaker collections. It wasn't until a few years later that the Air Max 97 achieved international success. The Silver Bullet colorway is one of the original versions of the shoe, and it is inspired by the gray finish of the Japanese high-speed train, the Shinkansen. This colorway is also influenced by the rippling effect of a drop of water in a puddle, which is evident in the undulating design of the shoe's upper.
